Show Writers win state awards Three of the four local writers who "picked up" nine awards at the 1990 Roundup of the League of Utah Writers, Sept 14-16 in Park City, reviewed their works at die meeting of the Bountiful chapter, Tuesday, Sept 18. Ed Hansen, retired air force officer, offi-cer, Centerville, talked about his modem mystery set in "cliff dweller" country, which was awarded first place for a full-length book. He also touched on his short, short story, ' Sunrise, Sunset, which received honorable mention, and an inspirationalpersonal expe rience, which also won honorable mention. Carma Rossi offered a review and postscript of her honorable mention, full-length book, Roadapples. Maureen Clark read her "in the real world..., which was judged second place for light verse. Kolette Montague, who was unable to attend, was recognized for historical poetry, unpublished, first place; serious poetry, published, second se-cond place; light verse, honorable mention; and children's book, "Never Ever Bubble Gum Book," which received honorable mention. |
