Show Red Ribbon Week poster contest rules ore estoblished If you arc an elementary or junior high student that has a desire to I help send the message that all youth should be drug free. I If you have some artistic abilities or are clever with words, then I you will want to enter the Clipper's drug prevention and awareness I poster contest in conjunction with the annual observation of Red I Ribbon Week. I The contest is open to any elementary or junior high school stu- I dent living in the south part of Davis County (KaysviUe south). I Schools in the north end of the county may also participate if they I desire. I The theme for the contest is "It's Hot to Not." I Contest entries do not need to be done on poster paper. Entries can I be no larger than 24 inches by 36 inches. I The top 20 to 30 posters from each school must be received at the I Clipper office, 1370 South 500 West, Bountiful by Oct. 12. These I individuals will receive a certificate of achievement from the I Clipper. I Students who do not enter the contest through a particular school I program should bring their individual entries to the Clipper office bv I Oct 12. 3 I Prizes will be awarded in different age classifications: grades I kindergarten, one and two, grades three and four, grades five and six I and junior high school students. I Posters will be judged Oct. 16. I The winners will be announced on Oct. 18. PTA representatives or I individuals can pick the posters up at the Clipper office on the 18th I so that they can be displayed in the individual schools during Red I Ribbon Week. I The prize winners will have their photos taken on Oct. 18 for the I mid-week (Oct. 24) front page issue of the Clipper. The winners will I receive a T-shirts and their posters will be reproduced and used in the I Clipper. It is the responsibility of local school PTA leaders or other I individuals to get top 20-30 posters to the Clipper office and to pick I them up for display in the school. I Because of the interest in Red Ribbon week, the Clipper staff is I requesting that all pre-publicity articles must be delivered to the I Clipper office no later than October 10. The information will appear I in our Oct 1 7 issue. I All post Red Ribbon Week articles must be to the Clipper office I no later than Oct 3 1 . This information will appear in our Nov. 3 I issue. I We hope this contest and the editorial space we are providing will I help promote a drug free school population. I |
