Show PERC moves to Hill Top School per class. For more information contact PERC at 774-7427. Sue Smith, head of PERC, is at the center five days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. She can assist parents in selecting materials to help them with their parenting questions and needs. LAYTON-Previously located at the Monte Vista School in Farm-ington, Farm-ington, PERC (Parent Education Resource Center) has moved to the Hill Top School at Hill Gate Terrace Ter-race in Layton. PERC is a library for parents. For the past 13 years it has been funded by the Davis County School District but was dropped from the district's budget this year. . Not wanting to see the center close altogether, Head Start, also located in the Hill Top School, took on the expenses of PERC with money they had. Head Start is a federally funded program and intends to write PERC into its budget in the future. Geared toward better parenting, PERC offers books, videos and classes for parents. Materials in the center are available to the public on a two-week check-out basis. There is a $1 charge per school year. Flyers advertising the classes PERC offers are sent to PTA presidents presi-dents throughout the school district and then distributed to the children. A sampling of classes to be held this year are: study skills for kids, parties for kids, building self-esteem, self-esteem, physical punishment what to do instead. There is a $3 charge |
