Show Vernal Race Meetf sei for Friday, Saturday, Sunday Horses, owners, trainers and jockeys from Vernal, Roosevelt, Salt Lake City, Neola, Ogden, Huntington, Price, Heber City, Craig, Grand Junction, Rangely, Rifle and Rocky Ford, Colorado, Col-orado, as well as from other cities will compete in the Vernal Race Meet. The meet will begin Friday at 4 p.m. in the Uintah County Fairgrounds. Races will also be held Saturday, Sunday, May 23, 24 and 25 at 1 p.m. Seven races will be held each day. Drawing for entries will occur at 9 a.m., Thursday. The featured races will be quarter horse futurity, thorougnbred derby, quarter horse maturity, thoroughbred futurity, quarter horse derby and thoroughbred maturity. Red Hot Memorie, the 1980 winner of the $2600 quarter horse futurity, 14.4, will compete in the 1981 quarter horse derby. The horse is owned by Hattie Jensen. Queen Superstar placed second in the 1980 quarter horse futurity and Super Streaker nabbed third place. Disco Decca nabbed fourth place. Beers, which is owned by V. W. Behrman, won the 1980 quarter horse maturity and Middle Ea.t Rocco finished in a dead S fM and third place.
