Show Mother, daughter display art in library Two local artists, mother and daughter, Mary Larsen and Marianne Morton, are showing their oil paintings and rub out paintings at the Uintah County Library for two weeks starting May 16. Both aspiring artists have taken instruction in knife painting from Frank Erickson and Marilyn Smith in Salt Lake City and from Jo McGregor Woodland. They have taken workshops from Arnold Vail and Oliver Parson in Vernal. Marianne has taken rub-out painting from Janice Leech. A special reception will be held in their honor May 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. Both artists will be on hand to visit with the public. The community is invited to attend the art shows at the librery which is open from 1 to 9 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and on Friday and Saturday from 10 to 6. |
