Planning commission proposes single family zone The Vernal City Planning Com-mission Com-mission is proposing to form a new zone in Vernal City which would be for single lainily dwellings only. According to Boh Nicholson, city-county city-county planner who made the proposal to the city last week representing the commission, the new zone will not allow duplexes. "The new zone will not effect land use which is now under the current ordinance," or-dinance," Nicholson said. Part of the reason for the move to the new zone is that in most cities a Residential One (R-l) Zone doesn't allow duplexes. "Many people move into Vernal assuming (he same to be true here," Nicholson said. The new R-l will move the present R-1 R-1 zone which allows duplexes to an R-2 zone, and the current R-2 will become K 3, Pi -3 to R-4. and the current R-4 zone which allows mobile homes will be a mobile home M1I zone under the proposed ordinance. The new ordinance will affect people w ho ow n undeveloped land in the R-l or RA 1 zone, Nicholson said. The new ordinance is proposed to be approved by the Vernal City Council in public meeting, the first week in June. |
