Tri-State oil tool service firm opens store here With a ribbon cutting ceremony set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May Hth, Tri-state Tri-state oil tool industries will officially add the name of Vernal to its growing list of world wide business locations. F.A. "Scooter" Mathews, a 17 year veteran with the Louisiana based firm and manager of the new Vernal operation opera-tion reports that the recently completed facility will provide support services for oil field activities in a six state area, including Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and northern Calfironia, and will employ up to 30 workers. Mathews says this is the third store to serve the Rocky Mountain region joining installations in Rock Springs Spr-ings and Casper, Wyoming. With more than 1800 employees, Tri-state Tri-state is the world's largest oil-field fishing tool company with operations throughout the U.S., as well as in Australia, Egypt, England, Germany, Norway, Holland, Scotland, the Phillipines and Singapore. A strong belief in the continuing growth of the petroleum industry within the over-thrust over-thrust area has sparked Tri-state's interest in-terest in the region according to Mathews. The 15,000 square foot Vernal facility together with the heavy machinery necessary to carry out its mission was designed, built and equipped by Player & Willyard Co. of Vernal, and occupies 5 acres of the P&W Industrial Park on which the locally-headquartered development firm broke ground just two years ago. Situated near the airport and southeast of Vernal's city center the park is presently "home" to ten industrial in-dustrial tenants. Including Tri-state, five of these companies are new to the area. Player & Willyard, specialists in designing and fabricating completely equipped, "Turn Key" oil field support facilities, have played a key role in attracting at-tracting such industries to the area, and will shortly be breaking ground for Vernal's Ver-nal's new Hilton Inn. Tri-state and Player & Willyard are jointly sponsoring the May Hth ribbon-cutting ribbon-cutting event and plant tours to which the public is invited. Government and civic leaders, top management representatives from Tri-state's world and regional headquarters, and members of the press will be present. |
