Show Makes Surgery .... HEA Officials Inspect Area For Telephones Outlook for approximately 1000 rural telephones are much brighter following a visit to the Basin area last week by representatives repre-sentatives of the Rural Electrification Electri-fication Administration, who made a thorough inspection and offered much encouragement to the committee which has been working on the project for several sev-eral months. v . According to Floyd Ross, chairman of the REA rural telephone committee, following the inspection by the five representatives rep-resentatives from the Washington Washing-ton D. C. applications and loans office and engineering department, depart-ment, a local committee met with the Bell "Telephone Co. officials of-ficials in Salt Lake to discuss boundaries. Those from the REA office who made the Basin inspection were Edward Maddox, -s lames Bolin, Chase Rainey, from the applications and loans office, and Harry Beuit and John Sor-enson, Sor-enson, engineers. These men gave encouragement to the project pro-ject and suggested that as soon as boundaries were decided on, they felt reasonably sure the application ap-plication for a loan would receive re-ceive favorable action by REA. Mr. Ross announced that within with-in a relatively short time complete com-plete information should be received re-ceived as to total costs to the potential telephone owners and the cost per month of operating the system. |
