Show Kiwanians Hear SCS Director; To Meet At Vernal Howard Ivory, director of the Roosevelt office of the Soil Conservation Service, was the guest speaker at the weekly Kiwanis club meeting in observance obser-vance of Soil Sonservation week He discussed the functions of the local office and explained how SCS operates in similar areas. The club went on record as favoring the city-manager plan of government for Roosevelt and will join with the Lions club in proposing this plan to the city at some later date. They also al-so received a personal invitation invita-tion from Henry Weight and A. V. Wheeler, of the Springville club, to join them in their annual an-nual art banquet on Apr. 21 Eight from the club plan to make the trip. Next week Roosevelt Kiwanians Kiwan-ians will join with the Vernal club in greeting Dr. Joseph Marshall, Mar-shall, Utah-Idaho district governor, gov-ernor, at an inter-club ladies night meeting in Vernal on Monday, April 9. No regular club meeting will be held on Wednesday. Don Nielson conducted the meeting as chairman, and President Pres-ident Darrel Walker presided. Other guests were Bill Mur-dock, Mur-dock, Jack Rasmussen and Lynn Hatch. |
