Show State Parks Will Be Open For Easter The spring camping season, for thousands of Utah families, begins each year with the Easter Eas-ter weekend. According to Robert O. Anderson, operations opera-tions chief for the Utah State Division of Parks and Recreation, Recrea-tion, a division of the Department Depart-ment of Natural Resources and Energy, most Utah state parks and recreation areas will be open and ready to serve visitors visi-tors by the Easter weekend. WHETHER YOU are a camper, cam-per, boater, fisherman, off-highway off-highway vehicle enthusiast, skier, hiker or history buff you should have no trouble finding one of Utah's 43 state parks which will satisfy your particular particu-lar outdoor recreation requirements. require-ments. The following developed state parks and recreation areas are open and ready to host visitors: Snow Canyon, St. George; Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Kanab; Goblin Valley, Hanksville; Dead Horse Point, Moab; Bear Lake State Park, Garden City; Yuba Like, Nephi. Utah Lake, Provo; Willard Bay. Willard. SALTAIR BEACH and Antelope Island, Great Salt Lake; Wasatch Mountain State Park, Midway; Esca-lante Esca-lante Petrified Forest, Esca-lante; Esca-lante; Kodachrome Basin, Cannonville; Green River State Park, Green River; Huntington Lake, Huntington; Hunting-ton; Starvation Lake, Duchesne; Duch-esne; Hyrum Lake, Hyrum; Steinaker Lake. BOATING WATERS free of ice include: Utah Lake, Willard Wil-lard Bay, Yuba Lake, Hymm Lake, Rockport Lake, Dee Creek, Huntington Lake. Great Salt Lake, Flaming Gorge. Lake Powell, Starvation Starva-tion Lake, Otter Creek Lake. Minersville Lake, East Canyon Ca-nyon Lake, Steinaker Lake, and Bear Lake (marina still frozen). Ice remains on Sco-field Sco-field Lake and Strawberry Reservoir. Re-servoir. There are a number of excellent excel-lent off-highway vehicle riding areas within, adjacent to, or originating from state parks i and recreation areas throughout through-out Utah. State Park and . Brigham City Motorcycle Park. BOAT AND off-highway vehicle owners are reminded that their recreation equipment equip-ment must be currently reg. istered for the 1982 season. Visitors should be prepared to pay day-use fees at all state parks and recreation areas except ex-cept Pioneer Trail State Park and undeveloped parks. The day-use fee is $2 per day for private vehicles and its occupants; occu-pants; 50 cents per person for walk-ins and bicyclists; $1 per person in groups of 20 or more by advance reservation only; and 50 cents per person for commercial vehicles. Utah re- sidents 62 years of age and older old-er or physically disabled, upon completion and acceptance of the required affidavit will be issued a "Special Utah Fun Tag" permitting free day-use in all state parks. OVERNIGHT camping is available on a first-come, first-served first-served or reservation basis. The overnight camping fee permits day-use in the park and overnight camping for one vehicle and any attached recreation re-creation equipment until 10 a.m. following the day of arrival arriv-al or each successive day thereafter. Children five years of age and under are admitted free. Camping fees are outlined out-lined below: $2.00 plus 50 cents per person per-son at sites with pit or vault toilets and overflow areas. $3.00 plus 50 cents per person per-son at sites with flush toilets. $4.00 plus 50 cents per person per-son at sites with flush toilets and hot showers. $5.00 plus 50 cents per person per-son at sites with flush toilets, hot showers and ulitily hookups. THE UTAH State Division of Parks and Recreation maintains main-tains 1 1 museums and historic monuments. Adult admission if 50 cents per person, children 1 2 and under are admitted free. There is no entrance fee at Pioneer Trail State Park, however, donations to the park will be accepted. i |
