It's especially good with homemade jelly or jam. in a double boiler. When all is melted and soft, dip marshmal-lows marshmal-lows in the sauce, coating well. Have a large dish of rice kris-pies kris-pies and roll each marshmal-low marshmal-low in the krispies. Place on cookie sheet to dry, then serve. They will disappear in a hurry. If the marshmallows are quite large, you might like to cut them in half before dipping in the caramel sauce, for even a half marshmallow is quite large when coated with sauce and rolled in the rice krispies. By KATHRYN JENNINGS Gloria Durtschi has made a beautiful crusty loaf of easy monkey bread, as she calls it. It is soft and buttery inside and made from frozen dough purchased pur-chased at the market. Two loaves of the frozen bread are required. They are baked in a large bundt pan. Fresh out of the oven, any family would enjoy en-joy this very easy bread with an aroma through the house athat any family wuld not be late for the meal. There are only two ingredients in this re- cipe, the frozen bread and butter. GLORIA also shares an easy yogurt recipe which her daughter gave her. This is also an easy recipe put together with unflavored gelatin, dry milk, evaporated canned milk and water. A small amount of store purchased yogurt is used in the mixture to produce the correct results. For the second batch, you can use the yougurt which has been made for good results. EASY MONKEY BREAD 2 loaves frozen bread, any brand ' 1 cube butter BARELY THAW the two loaves of bread, melt the cube of butter in a large bundt pan. Cut the bread in 1 inch slices and dip each in the melted butter, but-ter, swirling around the pan. Stand each slice with flat sides together until all are used to fill the bundt pan. Let rise until very light, usually 2-3 hours depending on the temperature of the room. Have the oven preheated to 350 degrees and bake for 30 or more minutes until golden brown. Turn out on a plate and this delicious bread is ready to serve, hot or cold. EASY YOGURT l'i Tbs. unflavored gelatin 2 Tbs. cold water, plus boiling boil-ing water . 3 cups instant dry milk or .' lMcups non instant dry milk ;, , , 3 cups cold water - , 1 13 oz. can evaporated milk 2 cups lukewarm water 3 Tbsp plain yogurt 1 Tbsp sugar PLACE UNFLAVORED gelatin and the 2 Tbsp water in a measuring cup and set aside. Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Mix the 3 cups instant dry milk or the non instant milk in a large bowl. Add the cold water, wa-ter, canned milk, lukewarm water and sugar and stir to mix. Now fill the cup with gelatin, gela-tin, the 2 Tbsp cold water, and the boiling water to finish dissolving dis-solving the gelatin. Add to mixture. Stir smooth adding 3 Tbsp plain yogurt and mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into several quart jars or a large glass bowl, bowl must be glass or china. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap allowing it to touch the mixture. TURN OFF the oven and place yogurt into the warm oven and allow to set without disturbing for 10 hours. This is really easy and a delicious product. pro-duct. Now spoon the finished yogurt into small containers and refrigerate until ready to use. When serving, sweetened fresh or canned fruit or jello may be served with the yogurt. GLORIA AND Ralph Durtschi Durt-schi have lived in Centerville for 15 years and have six children. chil-dren.
