Show Scouters Will Be Graduated From Course Dec. 9th Graduation for those who successfully complete the University Univ-ersity of Scouting will be held Friday, December 9, according to James E. Bacon, University of Scouting Chairman. Partners of all those attending the University of Scouting are invited that night. Requirements for graduation are as follows: (a), attend five of the six sessions OR (b) attend four of the six sessions and make up two hours by personal study following an outline given just prior to the close of the school. Fourth session of the University of Scouting will be conducted Friday, Fri-day, November 25, beggining at 7:30 p.m. at the' Roosevelt Junior High School. Scoutens are encouraged encour-aged to participate in whatever sessions they can and if possible to qualify for graduation. Success of the University of Scouting will be measured by the number receiving graduation certificates, certi-ficates, not the weekly attendance number. Participating in the third session on November 18 were 192 scouters. j Moon Lake District again took the lead with 39 scouters present to record 75 of their registered scouters in attendance at the school. Second was Roosevelt with 71 scouters or 55 and Duchesne Third with 25 scouters or 54. Roosevelt District won the attendance attend-ance race the second session, with Moon Lake having walked off with honors on the opening night. Cub scouts, boy scouts, and explorers from the Ballard LDS Ward presented the inspirational opening ceremony last Friday entitled. en-titled. "Have You Ever Seen An Elephant?" Cub scouts were under the direction of Mrs. Wilma Haslem. Slated for the fourth session this Friday is an opening ceremony entitled, en-titled, "Out Under The Stars." A total of 267 scouters have paid the 500 registeration fee to date. |
