Show Get Certificates The following teachers at the Alterra School received professional profession-al certificates at a recent meeting held in Vernal: Thomas C. Jeppson, Mary L. Burgess, Samuel R. Hem-mingway, Hem-mingway, Junior J. Hicks, Clair M. Hollingsworth, Neil G. Larsen, Spencer Squire and Hannah Richards, Rich-ards, also Jesse Hull'inger. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth LaRose, of Altamont, were visitors last week with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Denver. Den-ver. Mr. and Mrs. George Weight and family, of Tule Lake, Calif., were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs Fred Cook on Sunday. Mr. Weight is branch president of the LDS church there. Misses Eva and Essie Sprouse, of Salt Lake City, were last weekend visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sprouse. UNDERGOES OPERATION FOR LEG REMOVAL Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle and daughter Rose Marie, came in from Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon only to be called back within an hour after their arrival' to be with their son, Dennis, who is in the Primary Hospital. Dennis was operated op-erated on Sunday morning and one leg was amputated at the knee. A phone call from Mrs. Kettle Sunday stated he had come out of the operation feeling much better. Larane and Douglas, Kettles' Ket-tles' other two children, are staying stay-ing with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken. Mrs. Larry Larsen, who has been staying most of the time lately in Duchesne, was to church on Sunday Sun-day with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen. Larry, who has been in Korea for some time expects to arrive in Salt Lake City some time Wednesday. His wife, father and mother expect to meet him there. SIXTH BIRTHDAY Mrs. Jack Cook entertained quite a group of boys and girls Saturday Satur-day afternoon in honor of her daughter, Pauline's sixth birthday. Miss Myrtle Collins was released as a teacher in Junior Sunday School' and Miss Dianne Hullinger .was sustained in her place. |
