Show Church Notes Rhea Lambert was hostess Friday Fri-day for Gleaner class. The lesson. "Unwelcomcd Wedding Guest," was given by Mrs. Miles, the theme by Rhae Lambert, the scripture reading by Diane HuLlinger. Special Spe-cial guests were Colk-en Neilson, and Bee Orr. Gleaner class will not be held during Thanksgiving week. The Relief Society literary lesson les-son this week was given by Mrs. Edith Case. Rita Hansen gave a book report on Robert Louis Stevenson. Stev-enson. Work director Rosebelle Ames gave items to the members to work on for the bazaar. All are encouraged to come to Relief Society So-ciety and bring their children, as a-nursery will be held each week. Monthly Primary ward preparation prepara-tion meeting was held in the home of Edna Hartman this week. Pres. Pearl Orr conducted. Visiting stake board officers present were Birdie Swasey, teacher trainer; and Florence Flor-ence Mohlman, Bluebird leader. A skit depicting a teacher's personal appearance at Primary, was presented pre-sented by the following: Norma Hansen, Fern Powell, Sherry Hartman, Hart-man, Kathleen Hartman and Shirley Shir-ley McConkie, with Margaret Timothy Tim-othy as narrator. Lyle Young, Mrs. Leslie Orr and Mrs. Edgar Miles attended the Democratic luncheon in Roosevelt Wednesday. Guest speaker was Reva Beck Bosone. Mr. and Mr.s. Doyle Swallow and Mr. and Mrs. Rondo Harmon spent Thursday evening enjoying a turkey tur-key dinner with all the trimmings, with all the officials of the Duchesne Du-chesne School District. Mrs. Grace Taylor left last week for a few weeks' visit to California. Califor-nia. Her first stop was Los Angeles, An-geles, where she spent a few days with friends, then on to Bokers-field Bokers-field to spend Thanksgiving with her son and his family. Mrs. Frank Liddell and daughters, daugh-ters, of Myton, and Mrs. Ted Monks and family of Colorado were visitors at the' Chester Hartman Hart-man home Sunday. Mrs. Liddell and Mrs. Monk are nieces of Mrs. Hartman. WARD SACRAMENT MEETING REPORTED Mt. Emmons ward Sacrament meeting was conducted by Bishop Willard Mecham. Two youth talks were given by Sherry Hartman and Carol Dastrup. Cecil Wall sang a solo, "How Loveily Are T-hy Dwellings." Lynn Hansen reported on the athletic activity of the MIA and stressed the qualifications of the ball players. He also encouraged parents to visit the gym on Thursday Thurs-day nights and watch the Explorers Explor-ers and M Men play. Pres. Leon Burton was the guest speaker. His subject was, "Reverence "Rev-erence In Sacrament Meeting." Jimmy and Lyle Lemon of Ioka spent Saturday afternoon with their cousin, Laird Hartman. Mr. Richard Bentley arrived from his home in Missouri to spend a few days with his son, LaVer Bentley, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case left Sunday with their son, Art, for Salt Lake City where Mr. Case will be under the care of a spec-ilist. spec-ilist. At times Mr. Case is still in severe pain. Mr. Boyd Packer, Supervisor of the LDS Department of Education, visited in the seminary classes of Principal Ben Gomm during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gomm attended attend-ed the monthly social in Roosevelt of all' Seminary teachers and their companions. |
