Show 11,203 Oil And Gas Leases Are Reported For Utah There were 11,203 government-supervised government-supervised oil and gas leases outstanding out-standing in the state of Utah at the end of last year, the U. S. Geological Survey reported Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Of these leases, 78 were on Indian In-dian lands and the remaining 11,-125 11,-125 were on public lands, the Survey Sur-vey said. None of the Indian land leases were in the "productive" class, while 51 of the public land leases were producing. For the calendar year 1954, the 51 productive leases gave up 1,-078,000 1,-078,000 barrels of oil, 9,132,000 cubic feet of gas. Royalties on all products amounted amount-ed to $555,000. There were 91 ga.s and oil wells distributed among the 51 productive produc-tive leases, the Survey said. A total of 50 wells was started in 1954, 12 o fthem for oil and nine for gas. Twenty-three of them developed dry. |
