Show Indian Mission To 1 Have Reunion Friday, August 31 The annual Uintah Basin Indian Missionary reunion will be held Friday, August 31, at 8:00 p.m. in the Tridell ward chapel. Purpose of the organization is to foster the missionary spirit and friendship friend-ship among those who have served in the mission. President of the organization is James B. Harvey of TridelL The Harveys adopted an orphan baby Indian girl while serving as missionaries. Rulon Lind of Maeser ward is vice-president of the organization and James E. Bacon is secretary. President and Mrs. Golden R. Buchanan of the South-west Indian mission will attend as special guests. President Buchanan, who resides in Phoenix, was the Indian co-ordinator for the LDS Church and helped to organize the Uintah Basin Indian Mission in October 1949, when Mr. Bacon was called to serve as the new mission's first president. Forest O- Goodrich of Tridell is now the president. Stakes Direct The mission is directed by the stake presidencies of the four Uintah Basin LDS Stakes, with E. J. Nixon of the Roosevelt stake as chairman of the committee. Others are William Wallace, Uintah; Uint-ah; A. Hale Holgate, Duchesne; and Wm. N. Brotherson, Moon Lake. All who have served in the mission, mis-sion, members of the stake presidencies presi-dencies and the entire public, including Indian and non-Indians, are invited to attend the reunion-Refreshments reunion-Refreshments and a program are on the agenda for the evening and dancing will, be enjoyed ' to the music of a Tridell orchestra. |
