Show Randlctt Mrs. J. E. Jensen Relief Society Meets The Relief Society held their regular work meeting Tuesday at the ward house. A quilt was bound and article's for the Bazaar were started. Swimming Party The Avalon ward Mutual enjoyed en-joyed a swimming party Tuesday evening at the Vernal swimming pool. After their swim the group enjoyed refreshments at a Dairy Freez. Mrs. Mary Young returned honfe after visiting at the home of hex daughters Doris Colton at Pasco, Washington and Donna at San Francisco. Mrs. Jennie McMullen attended the Cooking Convention Monday and Tuesday which was held at the new Uintah High School. Mrs. Mary Young attended the convention Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ms. and Mrs. Robert Marshall are the proud parents of a baby boy born Monday Aug. 13 at the Roosevelt Hospital. Mr. Walter Harris of Heber Arizona Ari-zona spent a week visiting broth-ters broth-ters and sisters here.. Wednesday the group enjoyed a Harris family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham of Alterra. Mr. Lester Harris of Sandy attended at-tended the re-union. There were eight of the family present-Mr. present-Mr. and Mrs. Lenord Wall of Salt Lake visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Wall Sunday, and at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall. Monday. They also visited at the Lorin Harris home. They visited Mrs. Nanna Jasman at tht Roosevelt Hospital several times before returning re-turning home Tuesday. Leadership Meeting Mutual officers attending Stake M- I. A. leadership meeting were: Lula Dudley, Donna Pickup, Diane Taylor, Loye Harris, Reha Pickup, Viola Jensen and Ivy Chandler. Ward Learedship meeting was was held Thursday evening. Com-mitttees Com-mitttees were chosen for the ward reunion which will be held Sept. 3rd. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chandler took a cow to Springville Tuesday Tues-day evening. Mia- Maids Meet The Mia Maid class met Monday Mon-day at the home of Irene Jensen. They popped corn and made pop-cosn pop-cosn balls to sell at the shows Monday night. Relief Society officers attending the Relief Society Convention at the Uintah Stake Center were: Hazel Wardle, Lula Dudley, Nellie Nel-lie Harris, Marian Taylor-Mr Taylor-Mr and Mrs. Jim Dudley and two boys of Windsor, Colo, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Harold Dudley. Speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday night were: Franklin L. Jarman and Henry Wall. Mr- and Mrs. Grant Pickup and daughters, Shirley and Pauline spent the week end visiting relatives rel-atives in Salt Lake. Mrs. Lydia Brough spent part of the week in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs- Gilbert Brough and family of Grand Junction, Colo, were week end visitors at the Dee Brough home. Mr. and Mrs- Sheldon Lewis and family of KaysviUe spent the week end visiting at the home of Mrs. Lewis's parents Mr. and. Mrs. J- E. Jensen Mr and Mrs. Stanley Nebeker and sons Jim and Clark spent the week end visiting their son and daughter-in-law Mr and Mrs. Lynn Nebeker. Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler and sons Ernest and Jimmy spent the week end visiting Mr. and Mrs. Norton Chandler and new baby son at Salt Lake. Mrs. Erma Harris of Myton spent Sunday visiting at the Bert Harris home-Milton home-Milton 1 Stoddard of Salt Lake City spent the week end visiting his parents. Receive Mission Call Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barney received re-ceived word that their son Albert hed received a call to go on a two year mission to the Central States. There will be a farewell party at Sandy, Utah Aug- 25. Albert will enter the mission home Sept. 9. |
