Show Mallard Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Family Reunion The Harris family held a reunion re-union Wed., Aug. 15 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham with 23 in attendance. The eight brothers and sisters were present as follows: Walter Harris of Heber Arizona, Loren and Bert Harris of Randlett, Lester Harris of Sandy Mrs. Frank McMuIlin of Randlett, Rand-lett, Mrs. Josephine Taylor of Vernal Ver-nal and Mrs. Ivy Harris of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, and Mrs. Bingham. Members Mem-bers of the various families were present and a lovely lunch was enjoyed and the day spent in visiting. vis-iting. Mr and Mrs. Alden White and part of their family enjoyed a trip to Wyoming last week end. The Whites Lived in Wyoming before be-fore coming to Ballard. After their return trip Mrs. White was taken to Salt Lake for medicaf care. "Tex" Ross and sons Gilbert and Lucky were in Ballard from Grand Junction last week end. Mrs. Edgar Womack has been caring for four of the children of Mr. and' Mrs. Harold Womack's of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle and family of Taylorsville came out on Saturday and visited a short time at the George Bracken home. Douglas Kettle spent the weekend with his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lee, and daughter Connie French and two girls from Mamie, Florida have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Birchell. This was the Lees first trip to Utah. The Birchells had a family gathering at their home, then all Birchells and families went to Vernal and had a family reunion in the city park. , Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Horrocks from Salt Lake have been recent visitors with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Darell McMuIlin. Mrs. Franklin Arrowchis and small son of Denev are visiting with her father Delmar Gardner and her sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Angus and three daughters attended a Lewis family get-to-gether at Salt Lake on Saturday Aug., 11. Special Work Day There was a special work day called for Relief Society on Tuesday Tues-day afternoon to finish a quilt which was started' the week before. be-fore. Mr. and Mrs. Kine Hatch and five daughters have been spending the past week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Isac Ross. Mrs. Jerry Hatch was operated on in an Ogden Hospital last week she returned to her home in a few days- Val Labrum, who has employment employ-ment at Jensen spent last week end with his paents Mr and Mrs. Harden Labrum. Mrs. Reed Sessions and family of Ogden have been recent visitors vis-itors with her brother and sist-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jack Allred. Perry Butcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butcher was rushed to Salt Lake this week to enter the Veteran's Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Morton Chandler of Salt Lake announce the arrival of a baby boy last week. Mrs. Chandler was the former Carolyn Ross. The Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Wm Chandler of Randlett, Rand-lett, Mr. and Mrs. "Tex" Ross and great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Issac Ross. Mr. and Mrs. John Cook went to Vernal on Saturday to attend an Anderson reunion-Mr. reunion-Mr. and Mrs. Larry Larsen who are living in Salt Lake were out last week end to attend the funeral fun-eral services fo Larry's grandfather grandfath-er Cyrus Larsen an early pioneer of Roosevelt and father of Bernard Ber-nard Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reyos motored motor-ed to Provo on Saturday to get their son Paul Jr. who has been enrolled in a speech clinic this summer. Mrs- Jack Cook entertained a group of youngsters Friday afternoon after-noon who were friends of her daughter, Pauline. Refreshments were served and games played. Mrs. Norma Jenkins and family of Duchesne have been visiting at the Wm Jenkins hame. JAeva Hall and Ellen Bracken of Alterra lunch room, Millie Hatch and Gladys Labrum from Uuion attended the first' three days of Utah School Food Service Workshop Work-shop vat Vernal, on Mon., Tues., and Wed. of last week. A group of men and boys of the ward worked with the ward hay on Wednesday morning. Word has be"en received of the marriage of Therald Todd and Miss Ann Knight of Plain City in the Salt Lake Temple Aug. 20. TheTald is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis S. Todd of Brigham City, and he was raised in Ballard.. Bal-lard.. The officers of Relief Society attended a special meeting in Vernal, Ver-nal, on Friday. A silver maple tree which was planted at Alterra by Parley Raw-lings Raw-lings when he was in the 6th grade with all its tributaries was removed this past week and this ; noted tree will be missed by the local school students. |
