Show News Briefs From Neighboring . NEOLA I; Zola Spencer Reunion Honors Mrs. Delia Spencer The Spencer reunion was held at the Richard Dye swimming pool, last Saturday afternoon. A program was enjoyed by fifty relatives. Mrs. Delia Spencer, who is 79 years old, gave a reading she had learned as a girl entitled, "Asleep At The Switch." All eight of her living children were present: Mr. and Mrs. Derle Spencer, Park City; Mr. and' Mrs. Devere Spencer, Kaysville; Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. DelJis Spencer, Neola, Mrf and Mrs. Walter Horrocks, Santaquin, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bastian,, Neola, Mr. and Mrs. Tain Clark, Wellington, Welling-ton, Daphene Clegg and son from Calif. In the evening the family me at Mrs. Spencers home and listened to a tape recording of the history and early experiences of Mrs. Delia Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whiting have another grandson, bom to Mr. and Mrs. Forest Hancock. The new baby will be welcomed by two brothers and a sister. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Smithson have gone to Salt Lake City where he nas employment. Visiting' at the home of Patra Olsen for the past week were her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine McNickol and children of Tooele. Mrs. Olsen's nephew, Orvil King, payed a visit to her over the weekend. Visiting at the home of Tal Wardle over the weekend were his' I mother, Mrs. Eliza Wardle, and his brother, Bud Wardle, of Provo and a sister, Mrs. Ross Larsen, and daughter of Ogden and Venil Johnson of Roosevelt. Stnaley Wardle, Gordon Olsen and Verlund Spencer of Neola sang "I Am A Mormon Boy" in the stake Priesthood meeting at Roosevelt Last Sunday afternoon. STAKE MEETING A Primary Stake board meeting was held last Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Lecta Horrocks. Hor-rocks. The group made visual aids and a light lunch was served'. Last Tuesday in connection with Relief Society work meeting, seventy women entertained at a hankerchief shower for Mrs. Ruth Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Woodward from Calif, have ben' here visiting with his motheh, Mss. Jen Woodward. Wood-ward. Mrs. Janie Zimmerman, the former Janie Larsen and small daughter, Teena from Dallas, Texas, Tex-as, are enjoying a visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Larsen. Sunday the family met at the Dye swimming pool, for a reunion and picnic. Janie was entertained at Fern Ober-hansley's Ober-hansley's last Wednesday night. Mrs. Emma Oberhansly's sister, Mable Bilk from San Francisco has ben here visiting friends and relatives. Mrs. Bilk, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Oberhansly and Mr. and Mrs. Orr Gardner attended an Oberhansly Ober-hansly reunion at Payson last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Horrocks went to Salt Lake to spend a few days before school starts. Mrs. Horrocks will teach at White-rocks White-rocks again this year.. Miss Sherene Henrie who has employment in Salt Lake, spent the week end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Henrie. A two Stake Relief Society con--vention was held in Vernal last Friday. Those attending from here were Geneva Whiting, Katie Duncan, Dun-can, Jo Ann Mitchell. Lois Duncan, Dun-can, Kate Petersen and Zola Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mitchell and family of Salt Lake City spent the weekend fith her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Halver-son. |
