Show ALTAMONT Dorothy Farnsworth Church News The ward mutual held a "hobo party" Tuesday Aug. 7. After an outdoor supper on the church s lawn the group watched skits and contests enacted by the members. All present were in hobo attire. The Mt. Emmons ward Primary Conference was held Aug. 5. Mrs. ; Vista Wall was presented a 20 yr. service pin for her work in the Primary. Mrs. Fern Powell was awarded a 10 yr. service pin and three 5 yr. service pins went to Mrs. Edna Evans, Shirley McCon-kie, McCon-kie, and Bessie Hanberg. Mrs. Faye Reay was hostess to the ward Mutual preparation meeting. Refreshments were served ser-ved after the meeting. Principle speaker at Sacrament meeting Aug. 19 was Mr. Sadler. He is leaving to fulfill a two year mission in Great Britian the early part of September. Mr. Sadler was born in England and is looking look-ing forward eagerly to this return re-turn to his fatherland. Mrs Dewy Jessen, accompanied by Miss Bonnie Ann Ames, sang "I asked the Lord." Miss Joyce Barlow, of Los Angles, Calif., and Glen A. Case spoke at the meeting meet-ing also. They announced plans to be married in the Los Angles temple Sept. 14. Word, was received that Mr. Ben Gomm, Seminary teacher at v pajgjms pei itSih uouiiniV heart attack at his home in Wyoming Wyo-ming the early part of , August. No futher word has been received from the family but it is too soon to know whether Mr. Gomm will be able to return to his post in the Seminary or not. Mr. Rondo Harmon and his family fam-ily spent several day's in Salt Lake and' Provo on a business trip. Mr. Harmon is making plans to build a home in Altamont. Mr LaFarge Dastrup showed his Arabian Stallion in the UBIC Parade at Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Williams and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Rust on Sunday Aug. 19. Miss Melba Rust has been visiting visit-ing her Aunt Mrs. Fred Lindsay in Ogden for 10 days. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bearden and boys spent the week end in Alta-mont. Alta-mont. Mr. Bearden had been released re-leased from the Veterans hospital where he had received treatment a few days previous. On Sunday Ang. 5 the Earl Case family and Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Case and children Kathy, Michal and Charles went to Salt Lake where at Fairmont Park all the members of the Earl Case family met in Reunion. A picnic was served to the 38 members present after which the adults visited and the children participated in games. Mr. Carl Case and' family left Tuesday for their home in Indian-napolis, Indian-napolis, Indiana having spent a week with their parents Saturday, Aug. 11 Lynn H. Case and boys Kent ,and Craig spent the night with Earl and Pearl Case then journeyed on to Denver where Lynn is on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Crosby went to Saratoga and Lehi, Utah to the Lloyd family reunion. The following follow-ing week Mr. and Mrs. Fey Miles and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Croizer spent Sunday with the Crosbys. Mr. and Mrs. Grover MitcheL Craig and Kathy were callers at the- Edgar Miles residence Sunday. The County DUP Convention will be held at Hannah Sat., Aug 25 at 10 a.m. All DUP members and officers are expected to attend. Mrs. LaVer Bentley was taken to Salt Lake on Wednesday suffering suf-fering from a virus flu. The Ben-tleys Ben-tleys will visit Mrs. Bentleys parents par-ents while in Salt Lake. Farnsworth Reunion Mrs. Dorthy Farnsworth and family with about 90 members of the D. B. Farnsworth family camped for three days near Moon Lake. The Farnsworth family holds a reunion e-very year at which time a director is chosen for the next year and family history his-tory records reviewed as kept in a scrap book record album by the secretary of the reunion. Mr. Lynn Farnsworth was the directory and organizer this year with his daughter Lulu acting as secretary. A family bonfire and program was held on Sat. night and church services occupied a portion of Sunday morning. Mr and Mrs. Lester Searie of Provo, Utah visited Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ray Hansen on Aug. 8. |
