Show 1 Bountiful Winter Is Winner VT7V ? -J " v ' v. "f i M H DORA FLACK H The Bountiful Chapter of the ' : League of Utah Writers w as w ell epresented in the winner's circle V)f the annual statew ide contest in joetry and prose. DORA FLACK of Bountiful shared first place in the published book category with "Broad Baking Made L'asy." Alice Whipple also of Bountiful was a fu st in providing the Bountiful Chapter with a winner win-ner in the Songwriling category with her song "Yulotimo Magic," which look second place. The most prolific winner was Hael Thompson, who won in five categories of prose and poetry. Kolotte Montigue, Centerville, took third in published children's books w ith "Dandy Doodles" and second place in published serious poetry with "Of Green and Sorrow." OTHER book winners were Kar-la Kar-la Krickson, "Take Time to Make Time" and Francis Peterson, "If Might Is Right, Why Am 1 So Weak." Maxine Shrcve of Bountiful Bounti-ful received an Honorable Mention in Light Verse for her poem "Wife Witchery." Winners received cash prizes and certificates at a banquet which honored them at the Hotel Utah. The Bountiful Chapter of the League of Utah Writers moots monthly, every third Tuesday at the Bountiful Library at 7 p.m. All writers and would be writers are welcome to listen to our speakers.
