Show 'Mister Roberts' Slated For PVP Mister Roberts, starring Harry Carey, Jr., as the Captain and James Cash as Mister Roberts, opens at Promised Valley Playhouse Play-house on Thursday, Oct. I8,at7:30 p.m. It will run Wednesday thru Saturday thru Nov. 10. There will be one matinee performance on . Saturday, Nov. 3, beginning at 2 p.m. HARRY CAREY Jr., and James Cash, both known for their background back-ground in film, TV and stage, wilp head a cast of superb local talent featuring Gordon A. Johnson as "Doc", Gary Raymond Dunn as "Dowdy" and Richard James Russell Rus-sell as Ensign Pulver (to name a few) and this critically acclaimed, Tony award winner promises to be an outstanding performance which should hold audiences spellbound from beginning to end. The director, Joanne Parker, has a background of being founding Artistic Director for Family Thea- ter in Bellevue, Wash., holds a degree de-gree of BFA from the University of Utah, is a member of Northwest Directors Conference and has been involved in dance, music and theatre since the age of six. The set designs by J. David Blatt are superb su-perb in detail and create an atmosphere atmos-phere that is definitely shipboard. MISTER ROBERTS was written by Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan and was first presented on stage in New York City in 1948. It was later put on film, and both stage and screen starred Henry Fonda as Mister Roberts. Harry Carey, Jr. was featured in the film version with this great actor, playing the part of Stefa-nowski, Stefa-nowski, and James Cash was his double in On Golden Pond and they bring a great deal of expertise and nostalgia from the original version to Promised Valley Playhouse.
