Show Earmingtoii Man Named Vice Prexy5 Treasurer At BYU Dee F. Andersen, of Farming- ton. executive vice-president and treasurer of R.L. Warner Enterprises, Enter-prises, has been named administrative administra-tive vice-president at Brigham Young University, President Jeffrey Jef-frey R. Holland announced. THE appointment took effect Monday. "As part of our effort to keep the administration of the university as focused as possible, we are combining com-bining the offices of support services ser-vices vice president and financial vice president into this new position posi-tion of administrative vice president," presi-dent," Dr. Holland explained. SUPPORT Services Vice President Presi-dent Fred A. Schwendiman and Financial Vice President Robert J. Smith have been named project director and comptroller, respectively, respec-tively, for the construction of BYU's study abroad facility in Jerusalem. "We are fortunate to have a man of Dee Andersen's experience and ability join us," Holland said. "We are extremely pleased he has accepted this appointment. As a professional administrator who has distinguished himself in the fields of financial administration and executive management, he is ideally suited for this important new position at BYU." ANDERSEN'S areas of responsibility responsi-bility will include finance, person- DEE F. ANDERSEN nel, information systems, physical facilities and liasion with the purchasing pur-chasing department of the LDS Church. The new vice-president is a 1953 graduate of Utah State University where he earned a degree in accounting. He is a certified public accountant and has served as controller con-troller and vice president of administrative admi-nistrative services at the University Universi-ty of Utah. OTHER professional assignments assign-ments have included planning coordinator and assistant to the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, executive administrator to the LDS Presiding Bishopric, managing manag-ing director of the Church's computer com-puter and communications equipment equip-ment operations and budget officer with responsibilities for establishing estab-lishing the budget office for the LDS Church. The Brigham City native also served as associate commissioner in the Church Educational System under former Commissioner Neal A. Maxwell. ANDERSEN is on the boards of directors for Automatic Language Processing System, Inc., and Rick Warner Ford. He is a former director direc-tor of Deseret Management Corp., Deseret Trust Co., and has served as board chairman of the Utah Division Di-vision of the American Cancer Society and as a delegate to the national ACS board. Andersen is a former member of the LDS Young Men's general board and currently serves as a counselor in the presidency of the Farmington Utah North Stake of the LDS Church. HE AND his wife, Frances Nicholas Andersen of Willard, have seven children. |
