Show Reva B. Kennard Reva Gladys Bischoff Kennard, 76, Earmington, died Oct. II, 1984 at her son's home in Prove Mrs. Kennard was well known throughout through-out the Wasatch Front for her church and community work. She also wrote and published poetry as a member and officer of the Utah . State Poetry Society. SHE WAS born in Lovell, Wyo., : Aug. 2, 19.8. She graduated vala-dictorian vala-dictorian from Lovell High School in 1925. Her post-graduate normal course, a one year specialist training train-ing for teachers, qualified her to teach in the rural schools of Wyom-" Wyom-" ing. Two years later she continued - her education at USAC (Utah State : University at Logan) fortwo years. Gladys married Frankland James Kennard June 16, 1933 in the : Logan Temple. Frank, a widower ' of two years, had three children ; and Frank and Gladys had an addi-': addi-': tional 10 children. With the exception excep-tion of one child who died in infan-: infan-: cy all of Frank and Gladys' chil-dren chil-dren have been married in the LDS '; Temple, and are active in the Church. GLADYS HAS been active in politice, PTA, Daughters of Utah ; Pioneers, and Church positions. She and Frank fulfilled an 18 month mission for the LDS Church in Florida in 1979-70. Since their return re-turn from Florida, the Kennards have worked as volunteers at the Ogden Temple. Gladys Kennard's major contribution contri-bution to the world consisted of 12 REVA GLADYS BISCHOFF KENNARD active and well educated children (3 doctorates, 2 masters degrees, 3 bachelors degrees), 61 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, and 49 great-grandchildren to date. Her personal history will consist con-sist to a great degree of the many poems she wrote throughout her life which expressed her thoughts and feelings. GLADYS WAS successful as a news reporter for the Lovell Chronicle, Chro-nicle, editor, author, producer and director of plays,' roadshows and skits. Funeral services were held Monday, Mon-day, Oct. 15 in the Farmington Rock Chapel. Burial was in the Logan City Cemetery. |
