Show o, i mm Mayor Addresses 1200 Young Americans as Brothers in a Common Cause. SOUTHAMPTON, Feb. 20. Twelve hundred American soldiers, mostly survivors of the steamship Tuscanla, were the guests of tho city of Southampton South-ampton today at a theatrical entertainment, entertain-ment, at which Mayor Peace and other officials and American Counsul Swalm were present and spoke. The soldiers, many of whom were still wearing mixed American and British uniforms as well as civilian attire, at-tire, given to them when they were rescued, were brought to Southampton Southamp-ton on special trains from an American Ameri-can camp. They marched through the , streets of tho ancient town headed bv I a band. Crovds Cheer Americans. The thoroughfares were decorated with British and American flags and were lined by cheering crowds. The population of the town, which has seen hundreds of thousands of British soldiers sol-diers going and coming during the war, was impressed by tho Americans, many in tho streets remarking they were surprised at the splendid discipline disci-pline and the seriousness with which the Americans appear to be goinjfc war.
