Show MERCHANTS CALLED TO MEET TOMORROW AT CITY HALL A meeting of Ogden merchants has been called for 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, after-noon, February 22, in the council chamber of tho City hall. The meeting meet-ing will discuss vital subjects arJd will be addressed by W. W.- Armstrong, state food administration, and W. F. Jensen, economy commissioner. Tho following notice has been forwarded to Ogden merchants: "To the Merchants of Ogden: The Commercial economy board needs your help in order to limit retail deliveries to one a day on each route. Also to discontinue dis-continue the practice of sending goods to homes on approval, subject to being returned. We believe the large department de-partment stores can make more than one delivery a day on each route at a less comparative cost in manpower and money than do the smaller retail stores. But, in order to make tho move completely successful, tho smaller small-er retailers will not be satisfied unless the large department stores reduce their service to one delivery a day on each route." Tho lettor, which is addressed to overy merchant in Ogden and which Indicates tho subjects to receive attention at-tention at the meeting tomorrow afternoon, is signed by W. F. Jensen. Mr. Jensen's headquarters, like those of Mr. Armstrong, are in Salt Lake City. nn |
