Show UTAH PIONEER IS DEAD IN OREGON PROVO, Feb. 20. John W. Deal, a former Sprlngville and Provo resident, died yesterday at Grants Pass, Ore. He had been suffering from heart and kidney kid-ney ailments for several years. Mr. Deal was born at Quincy, HI., December Decem-ber 16, 18-17, and wns the son of John W. and Eliza Crandall Deal. His father's fath-er's family came to Utah in 1849, and was one of the first five families to locate lo-cate at Springville in 1S50. During Mr. Deal's early life he engaged in freighting freight-ing to Montana and Nevada, In 1875 he married Miss Azallna Spafford, who, with one daughter, Mrs. Oscar Wilkins, Jr., of Grants Pass, survive him. He has one brothor living, Mr. L. D. Deal of Springvillo, and a large number of other relatives. |
