Show JAS, SIH FID 125 01 PETIT Llffif James Sandman, 18 years old, pleaded plead-ed guilty to petit larceny in municipal court this morning. He was fined $25 and costs. Sandman is an associate of George Kasius, alias George Brutus, now in the city jail. They confessed to five house robberies and one hold-up. Kasius Kas-ius will be deported to Holland. The misdemeanor charge was placed against Sandman because of his youth. Judge George S. Barker showed un-1 un-1 usual leniency because of personal ap-i ap-i peals in behalf of the prisoner. Among those who urged clemency were Detective De-tective T. H Blackburn." who with Detective Robert Chambers, arrested Brutus and Sandman, and Bishop W O. Ridges of the Ninth ward. The court explained the offense was serious se-rious but that he would yield to the recommendations of those who had investigated in-vestigated the case. |
