Show DEFINITE ACTION ON NEW ORDINANCE IS POSTPONED The ctly commissioners at the regular reg-ular meeting this morning decided to postpono definite action upon the ordinance ordi-nance submitted yesterday by City Attorney At-torney Rcoder for tho elimination of booths and curtained compartments in cafes, restaurants and refreshment parlors. Tho candy and confection shops aro protesting tho ordinance on the ground that It will require a complete reconstruction recon-struction of the Interior of their stores. Also, they allege, a considerable proportion pro-portion of their patronage consists of young people those under the ages of 18 years and if they are prohibited prohibit-ed from serving people under that age, except when attended by a parent, guardian or other suitable person, thoy will be subjected to a heavy loss. Tho commissioners granted tho application ap-plication of twenty rooming house proprietors pro-prietors at the session this morning. To date, 57 rooming house applications havo been granted. |
