Woodruff's enlistment en-listment in the government service for overseas duty, numerous changes In superintendents and chief clerk on the Union Pacific have been announced. In each instance, the affected railroad men stop up a notch. W. W. Woodruff, superintendent of tho Wyoming division, with headquarters headquar-ters at Cheyenne, becomes federal director di-rector of a division of railroad construction con-struction in France. He already has departed for overseas and will bo directing di-recting tho constructive campaigns against the Boche within a short time. A. W. McDuffy, superintendent of the western division, with headquarters headquar-ters at Green River, succeeds Supt. Woodruff at Cheyenne, and N. A. . il-liams, il-liams, assistant superintendent of the Wyoming division, with general offices at Cheyenne, becomes superintendent of tho western division at Green River. With the changes in tho superintendents, superin-tendents, F. C. Smiley, chief clerk to H. L. Bell, assistant superintendent of tho Oregon Short Line, with headquarters head-quarters in Ogden, is transferred to Laramie, Wyo. The exact duties of Mr. Smiley have not been announced, but it is probable he will be attached to the superintendent's office. H. J. Borger, chief clerk in the claim denartment of the Union Pacific here. moves further down the hall and as-I as-I sumes the chair occupied by tho , transferred Mr. Smiley. He will enter upon his new duties Saturday, at which tinio Mr. Smiley departs for Laramie. JIr. Berger's successor has not been announced. It was announced yesterday that J. E. Mack, chief clerk- to J. H. Dodds, superintendent of the Ogden Union Railway & Depot company, has been promoted to chief clerk to Supt. George L. Hickey of tho transportation transporta-tion department of the Union Pacific system at Omaha. Also that George Kellogg, chief clerk at the yard offices, had succeeded Mr. Mack. In the list of changes in superintendents, superin-tendents, two are of especial interest to Ogden. Supt. Woodruff, who joins Uncle Sam's fighting forces in France, was assistant superintendent of the Oregon Short Line here until last September, Sep-tember, when he was transferred to Cheyenne, and Mr. Bell succeeded to the Ogden offices Supt. McDuny also is an Ogden product, and until transferred to Green River as superintendent super-intendent of the western division, was trainmaster of tho Salt Lake division, with headquarters here. |
