VILLA BANDIT ESCAPES TO U. S. El Paso, Texas, Jan. IS. Enrique Perez Rul, secretary to General Francisco Fran-cisco Villa, escaping through the Car-ranza Car-ranza lines, was in El Paso today and han ronnimcoH furthpr revolutionary activities in Mexico. Rul, to Villa adherents here, denied Villa had ordered the massacre of Santa Ysabel or that he had ordered all Americans killed. Secretary Rul Being Hunted. According to these adherents, Rul who was being hunted in ChDiuahua City by the Carranza authorities, took a desperate chance four days ago and approached the commandant nt Chihuahua Chi-huahua City and bogged a safe conduct con-duct to the border while the commandant com-mandant was engaged in conversation with a young woman. They say that without looking at the applicant and to get rid of him quickly the commandant scribbled a , line and Rul fled to the border without with-out his real Identity becoming known.
