Show U. P. CONFERENCE HELD IN SALT LAKE Salt Lake, Jan. 19. Legal, engineering engineer-ing and accounting oflcials of the Union Un-ion Pacific system gathered at tho general offlcos of the Oregon Short Line In Salt Lake yesterday to discuss dis-cuss plans for the federal valuation of the Union Pacific proporty, which will be started by government representatives repre-sentatives some time this comlug summer, sum-mer, Tho purpose of tho mooting Is to go over tho reports of tho several engineers of the respective lines form-'ng form-'ng tho Union Pacific system, with a view to arriving at a uniform valuation valua-tion and uniform methods of taking Mie valuation. The mooting will continue con-tinue through several days. The government has completed Its Inventory of tho Salt Lake Route and several other roads In the country and Is scheduled to bogin work on other lines of tho Union Pacific system about next July. The valuation is taken tak-en by the interstate commerce commission, com-mission, or under Its direction, for the purpose of determining the actual value of railroad property. The information in-formation is to be used as a basis in rate decisions and to determine If there has been overcapitalization. Among those attending the meetings meet-ings are: R.
