Show M0 fJATUPM fhK liU ImlUflnL IMu Los Angeles, Cal., Jan 18 New dangers from flood waters which have accumulated in the mountain regions tonight threatened to increase the property damage, already enormous, enor-mous, as a result of the rainstorm which has held practically all of southern California in its grip for more than three days. Flood conditions condi-tions also prevailed in sections of Arizona. The loss of life from drowning remained at four tonight. Many sections sec-tions of southern California were without means of communication to the outside world as a result of the damage to the telegraph and telephone tele-phone systems, while railroad traffic was greatly delayed. The local government weather forecaster fore-caster announced that the backbone of the storm had been broken and that it was moving eastward over southwestern Nevada and Arizona. He predicted clearing weather for the next twenty-four hours. The body of Alfonso Rivere, who was drowned in the Ventura river, near La Crosse, Ventura county, yesterday, was recovered re-covered today. John Higglnson, a rancher, and Jose Rodriguez, a Mexican, were drowned today in the Santa Ana river near Anaheim, Orange county. This city was without a supply of natural gas late today as a result of a washout in the pipe line. |
