Show HESTER NOW IN SALT LAKE CITY Salt Lake, Jan. 29. Herbert H. Hester, Hes-ter, manager of the Salt Lake baseball base-ball club, camo to town last night. Ho came from St. Louis, where he spent a fow days after leaving his home at Fayetteville, Ark. Hester looks the picture of health and Bays he feels it. He saw Frank Huelsman at St. Louis, and reports the great sticker in fine condition. "I have not yet had time to meet any of the officials of the club' said Hester, "so I really don't know" much that's new. We will probably get down to business In a few days and begin to lay our plan for th Reason." Hester says ho has live or six young pitchera on hla starf, who, ho oxpocts will start quit a little fire In the Union association. While- he has his team practically mapped out In his mind, he prefers to hold off with definite announcements until the contracts aro in his pocKots. As a matter of fact, said Heater, Huelsman Huels-man was the only man absolutely certain for the season. Tho club owns seven or eight players who will be valuable In the team's organization organiza-tion either for actual aervico or for trading purposes. The spring training question will be ono one of the first to he decided. This matter will be taken up as soon as Hester "gots set," With the exception of a few minor details, the Boise situation Is settled. Tho franchise and the property of the Boise club to M. R. Evans, of this cltv by virtue of a deal made at Boise Tuesday. Mr. Evans and Dr. C. P. Harvellle, owner of the Murray franchise, who accompanied him, returned from Boise yesterday, after accomplishing much work there. Speaking of conditions con-ditions in Boise Dr. Harveill said that it would be nothing short of disgrace dis-grace to leave out of the association a city like Boise. |
