Show WELLS-FARGO WILL CEASE TO HAVE OFFICE FORCE IN OODEN i Two Big Express Companies Consolidate in Order to Cut Down Expenses in This and Other Cities Employes Will Be Given an Opportunity to Work in Other I)is-trict I)is-trict Big Reduction in Rates. To facilitate the express business and lessen the expense of operation, the officers of the American and Wells-Fargo express companies have decided to consolidate udder one management, man-agement, to take effect February IS. The consolidation applies to Ogden, Provo and other cities In Utah, and also cities in California where tho two companies are in operation. The Wells-Fargo company is not going out of business, but the local affairs will be managed by the American Ameri-can company which will be placed in control of the business of both cohi-panics. cohi-panics. The office force of the American Am-erican company will be retained In the Ogden office, and the employe's of the Wells-Fargo company will be given positions In other districts. Speaking of the change today, local Manager R. E. Kyle stated that ten men. Including himself, now in the employe of Wells-Fargo, will be- released, re-leased, February 15, and he could not say where'they may he stationed. The old employes will bo taken care of. The manager of the American company, com-pany, J. V. Ladd, will have charge of the joint business and will have his headquarters at Wells-Fargo office on Washington avenue, between Twenty-'flfth Twenty-'flfth street and Twenty-sixth street. nn |
