The suggestion was .made by the committee that a municipal moter inspector in-spector be appointed to look after tho interests of the city and the citizens who nre patrons of the electric light companies. It was also said by a member of the committee that the city should not wait until power is secured from the South Fork reservoli to begin on a municipal plant, but that work should be started In the near future at this end to put In a distributing system. The city at tho present time pays ?15,000 a year for lights and this amount would go far toward putting up wires and poles and power could be bought at nominal nomi-nal cost from one of the local power companies until the municipal powor plnnt could be built. , The commissioners all appeared friendly toward the Idea of having a municipal lighting plant, but explained to the committee the present situation of tho city in regard to the lighting question and said that lack of fundi alone prevented them going ahead. After tho suggestion was made by tho committee regarding tho matter of beginning the work In a small way at first, the city coroailsBloners said that It was worth investigating and that they would carefully consider it.
