FEET DEEP II TRE urns It is reported from Huntsville today to-day that snow in jOgden valley is 30 inches deep on the level and that in the mountains near by the depth is from three to six feet deep and that in deep ravines it is as much as fifteen fif-teen feet. In the vicinity of the South Fork dam, timbers that were piled in the canyons to be hauled out on sleds during the winter months cannot be reached "because of the depth of snow and efforts to reach the timbers tim-bers have been abandoned. At the damsite, however, it Is said, the snow is not much deeper, if any, than at Huntsville. "Billy" Wilson says that logging has been stopped In all branches of Ogden canyon on account of the deep snow and tho danger of slides. His men have encountered snow 12 and 16 feet deep in a number of the canyons. can-yons. The temperature In the canyon and at Huntsville this morning was near the zero mark. |
