Redmen pickup two league wins in baseball action Cedar High School Kednien, despite bad w eather, have posted a pair of league baseball victories vic-tories this past week, after suliering an opening game loss to American Fork in a non league battle. Friday the Kednien traveled to Delta to meet the Kabbits in the first league contest of the season anil came away with a it 1 victory. vic-tory. Tuesday the Kedmen were at Beaver against the Heav ers in a postponed battle and came away with a 14 0 victory in an abbreviated game, owing to the weather. Against American Fork the two clubs fought to a scoreless tie through three innings of play and in the fourth Lee Holmes of the Kedmen belted a homer to give the Coach Dick Hobbs crew a 1-0 lead. The Cavemen pushed in four runs in the fifth inning to take the lead and added seven more tallies in the seventh frame including in-cluding a home run by Anderson to ice the victory. Robert Shirts was on the mound for the first four innings for the Kedmen. Steve Stocker took over the mound duties in the filth and Kick Kollo came on in the sixth. Lee Holmes was the winning pitcher against Delta hurling a no hitter. The sole Kabbit score came in the first inning w hen the leadoff man walked and came on to score on a sacrifice. The Kednien tallied in the second to knot the score with Shirts scoring without benefit of a hit. The Kedmen took the lead in the fourth when Kay Meyers walked, moved to second on a single by Holmes and scored on a sacrifice by Krad Hunter. The Cedar City crew added two runs on lour hits in the sixth and put the game away in the seventh with five tallies. Holmes collected II strikeouts in the seven inngs of play. Meanwhile the Redmen tallied four runs in the first, two in the second and pushed in eight in the third and three in the fourth, before the game was stopped.
