Elaine Matheson, Charts cheers for the Redmen for the li)7!-76 ear were, left to right : Averett, Paula Dennett and Leilani Knell, head cheerleader Cedar High names 1975-76 Cheerleaders daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alpine Averett: Elaine Matheson daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Matheson; and Paula Dennett; daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Dennett. Leilani Knell was chosen by the girls to serve in the capacity of head cheerleader for the coming year. Mrs. Carol Bishop, the chcerleading advisor, summed up the feelings of the girls, "They are all really excited, and looking forward to a great year." The climax to two weeks of clinics and preparations came the night of April 3, as the 1975-76 Varsity cheerleaders were revealed at an "Announcement" dance held at Cedar High School. The Cedar High Studentbody, last Thursday, were given the option to vote for six girls out of ten candidates vho each performed per-formed an individual cheer, a cheer with a group, and the school song. The winners were then announced with a special presentation at the "Announcement" "An-nouncement" dance, Thursday night. Selected to serve as cheerleaders for the 1975-76 school year were Leilani Knell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Knell; Marsha Dewsnup, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Dewsnup; Karen Cripps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Cripps; Charise Averett; |
