Cedar Redmen Track and Field team got off to a good start when they walked off with first place honors in the annual Dixie Invitational meet held at St. George. By Dorothy Rogers 50 years ago The Chamber of Commerce discussed the coming celebration to be held in Cedar City on the opening of the 1925 season of Zion National Park. It was suggested that the services of the BAC band be secured along with the Music Department furnishing vocal music for the occasion. Cedar City anticipated large parties of tourists to arrive via U. P. from the Eastern States, the first party of tourists to arrive in time for the celebration of the opening of Zion National Park. The new state road between Anderson's and Toquerville in Washington County was nearly completed. The road is 2.9 miles long and follows an entirely different route from the present road. It is almost identical with the old Pioneer Trail first built in this part of Utah's Dixie. House frocks sold for H9c each in plain and plaid fabrics. 25 years ago The first meeting of the newly organized Kiwanis Club was held at the El Escalante Hotel and officers were elected. It was sponsored by the Provo Kiwanis. The BAC baseball team got off to a good start when it walloped the Dixie Flyers at St. George by a score of 7 - 3 in the first game of the season. Homer S. Jones, operator of the Zion picture shop in Cedar City was elected President of the Cedar City Rotary Club. The Cedar Junior High School was the recipient last week of a |
