Show SUSC Summer School slatesopening Registration for the second four-week block of the Southern Utah State College Summer School program will be held July 11 at the SUSC Registrar's Office. "Persons interested in taking second block classes may register any time between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the 11th or at anytime prior to that date," Ward S. Robb, SUSC Registrar, said. Tuition and fees may be paid each day until 3:30 p.m. when the Cashier's Office closes. "It is important that students attend class the first day the session begins. They may attend class then register later that same day," Robb said. "The second session includes in-cludes nearly 60 academic classes and several special workshops and seminars, many of which begin later in the summer," McRay Cloward, Dean of the SUSC School of Continuing Education and Public Service, said. Students may register for these special programs on July 11 or at the time the class begins. "The summer program is designed so that students may take up to nine credit hours the second session. It is an ideal time to combine vacation time with study," Cloward said. Schedules are available at the Registrar's Office or at Dr. Cloward's Office, Old Administration Building 203. An application for summer sum-mer school will be required of all students who did not attend SUSC spring quarter or the first summer school session. This application may be obtained at the Admissions Office, Administration Ad-ministration Building, prior to registration. Workshops, seminars, and special classes beginning July 11 or later in the summer include an Aerospace Workshop for scouts and young people, July 25-August 5; Art Education Workshop for Elementary Teachers, July 11-22; a Basketball Camp for Boys, July 11-15 (Grades 10- 12), July 18-22 (Grades 7-9); 7-9); an Interinstitutional Childhood Education Seminar August 1-5; and a Creative Cookery Class July 11- 15. Other second session programs include: Current Developments in Education, August 7-13; Current Political Problems, July 11-22; 11-22; The Exception Child Last Quarter Century, July 18-22; House Plant Care, July 11-August 5; Improvement Im-provement of Reading Program, July 11-22; Piano Literature and Pedagogy, July 11-22; Shakespearean Seminar, July 14-Augustl2; and Watercolor, July 11-22. "In addition, special Zion Park Field Seminars will include course in Community Com-munity Ecology, July 11-15; Field Botany at Cedar Breaks, July 18-22; Introduction In-troduction to Photography, July 18-23; Oil Painting and Watercolor, July 26-30; and Geology of Southern Utah, August 1-5," Cloward said. BRING HOME TROPHY. The Iron County Sheriff Patrol are proud to report the winning of the 1977 first aid Red Cross Traveling Trophy, won at the recent national meet of Search and Rescue Units, in Richfield. This trophy is being displayed in the California-Pacific Utilities Company window. This is a revolving trophy award to the best five man team in the national association. The following men worked as a team to win this beautiful trophy: Commander of the Iron County Sheriff Patrol Russ Miller, past National Commander Adrian Baldwin, Ken Blackner and George Connell, and Patrol member Keith Workman. |
