Show New Harmony by Marva Prince The community was saddened Tuesday, June 28, at the passing of Abigail (Aunt Abbie) Hammond Pace, who died at the Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Cedar City of natural causes. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 2 in the ward chapel. Aunt Abbie was an active member of the LDS Church and the New Harmony Ward throughout her life. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Pearl) Williams, Jr. Cedar City; and sons, Leslie A. and Anthon Pace, both of New Harmony, and Gordon Pace, Bishop, Calif. She was the wife of Henry Alexander Pace. She was 91. Word was received by Mr. and Mrs. Vivian F. Prince of the birth of their first grandson, born June 28 at the Vance AFB at Enid, Okla., to their daughter and son-in-law, 2nd Lt. Robert E. and Deanna P. Groke. He will be named Kevan Robert. Mrs. Prince will fly to Enid to help with the new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Prince and sons, Gary and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Prince and daughter Kars spent Saturday in Las Vegas where Mrs. Prince departed by plane for Enid. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Whitehead and children of Henderson, Nev. are here spending their vacation with their son, Doyle Whitehead. Ray Taylor and children and a friend are here visiting for a few days from their home in Sandy. They are visiting with their parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Taylor. Linda Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Prince, had the misfortune of falling off a horse. She spent the night in the Valley View Medical Center receiving treatment. We wish Linda a speedy recovery. Darce Prince spent a few days in Riverside, Calif, visiting with his daughter, Annette Frie and to be w ith her when she entered the hospital for surgery. |
