Show Cal-Pac holds edge in Senior LL California Pacific Utility and Canyonland Petroleum are battling it out for the lead in the Cedar City Senior League as the 1977 season goes into its final two weeks of play. Unofficially Cal-Pac. has a half game lead over Capco with a record of nine wins and two losses. Close behind is Capco also with two losses but wjth only eight wins to their credit. During the past During the past week Capco picked up a pair of victories as they defeated P. K. Home Center by a score of 5-2 and struggled to get by TWA Services Monday evening to pick up a slim 9-8 win. Corry Real Estate bested P.K. Home Center by a score of 9-3 9-3 and it was Parowan scoring an 11-3 victory over State Bank. League games are played each evening Monday through Friday and the league will continue through July 22. Cedar City Senior Little League will also host a two-team two-team double elimination torunament in Cedar City against a new team formed in St. George this year, according to Yorke Nelson, District Little League official. of-ficial. Kurt Neilson and Alger have handled most of the mound duty for California Pacific to keep them atop the league standings throughout the season. Capco depends on Kevin Soderquist and Bryce Gubler for most of their mound duty. David Carter has led the pitching staff for TWA Services throughout the season. |
