Show Jay Webster Moore, 84, dies in Salt Lake Hospital; honored at services Jay Webster Moore, 84, of 191 Center Street, Parowan, died at a Salt Lake hospital Tuesday, June 28, 1977. Mr. Moore was born January 3, 1893 in Leon, Kansas, to Leeonidas and Eliza Ann Brown Moore. He married Ann Jacobsen and to this marriage was born one son and three daughters. At the age of thirty-two Ann died and Mr. Moore later met Miriam Burton and they were married on May 10, 1935 in Parowan, Utah. Mr. Moore was a building contractor and has built many homes and businesses in Parowan. He served as building inspector of Parowan for several years and was a member of the Parowan Lions Club. He was a co-partner of the Miriam's Style Shop in Parowan. Mr. Moore was a member of the L D.S. Church. Survivors include his wife; Miriam of Parowan; three daughteril; Mrs. William (Margaret) Young of Vic-torville, Vic-torville, California, Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Finn of Gardena, California, and Mrs. Charles (Lucille) Phillips of Apple Valley, California; two stepdaughters; step-daughters; Mrs. Glade (Gloria) Smith of Parowan, Mrs. Don (Beverly) Ford of Upland, California; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Parowan 3rd Ward Chapel July 1, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. with Ralph Riggs officiating. Prelude and postlude music was rendered ren-dered by Jackie Robinson. Glade Smith, Heber Gurr and Ron Smith offered the prayers with Jean Hen-drickson Hen-drickson giving the eulogy. Watson Adams and Ralph Riggs were the speakers with a special number, "The Lord's Prayer" sung by Janet Tincher and accompanied ac-companied by Jackie Robinson. Mrs. Robinson also rendered an organ medley. Dedication of the grave was offered by Howard Joseph and pallbearers included: Gene Hyatt, Craig Phillips, Raymond Phillips, Glade Smith, Don Ford and Arthur Finn. Flowers were taken care of by the grand-daughters.Interment grand-daughters.Interment was in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. |
