Show Beware of "FREE" vacation trips registered against them for fraud prior to filing bankruptcy in 1974. It is the opnion of the State Office of Consumer Affairs, after conducting numerous investigations, that the consumer should use caution in deciding whether or not to take the offer. The Utah Trade Commission Com-mission has issued a Consumer Con-sumer Alert concerning "FREE" vacation trips. According to Mrs. Eueda Stevenson, Executive Secretary of the Commission, Com-mission, residents of the State are currently receiving a three day holiday for two offer "on the house" including deluxe lodging and a generous gambling package to Las Vegas, Nevada; Reno, Nevada or Florida. Mrs. Stevenson said, the offer is tempting, who would not enjoy a free vacation? Everyone likes something for free. She added that citizens should BEWARE! Free offers are seldom free,' Complaints filed with the State Office of Consumer Affairs indicate that often the offer does not materialize as it was represented in the advertising. She said that Columbia Research Corporation formerly Market Development Corporation, one firm making such offer, had over 99,000 complaints |
