Show Sara Matheson Lowder75, diesathome Sara Matheson Lowder 75, died July 20, 1977 at her home in Parowan of natural causes. Born Jan. 25, 1902 in Parowan to Simon and Susan Gurr Matheson. Married Clair Lowder Sept. 5, 1922 in Parowan. Mrs. Lowder was a homemaker and an active member of the LDS Church. She was one of the first Telephone Operators in Parowan for the telephone company. She is survived by her husband of Parowan and 2 sons; Clair Jr. of Spokane, Washington and Donald Clinton of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also surviving are five grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren a brother Frank Matheson of Cedar City and a sister Mrs. Florence Houston of Panguitch. Funeral services were held Sat. July 23, at 2 p.m. in the Parowan Third LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Reginald Hughes conducting. con-ducting. The family prayer was offered by Howard Joseph with Ola Robinson playing the prelude and postlude music and Reed Orton giving the invocation. Musical selections consisted of "In the Garden", "Sing Me To Sleep", by Janet Jones, Merna Mitchell, Katrine Johnson and Jackie Robinson acc. by.:: Itah Mortensen and a vocal solo by Brenda Adams "Lay My Head Beneath A Rose" acc. by Vyonne Chamberlain. The speaker was Ken Joseph with remakrs by Bishop Reginald Hughes. The benediction was offered by Hy Humphrys and Verl Taylor dedicated the grave Interment was in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. |
