Show Recreation League Battle for Honors Each of the 10 teams played the other 9 teams once. Winning berths in the playoffs for the Southern Division of Recreatior League Play were Antones and Police Dept. while MacDonald s and Lockhart took the honors in the Eastern Divison. Playoffs were held this week and final winners will be announced next week, according to Randy Cowan. In last week's play Antones An-tones got a 21 to 8 win over Lockhart with Clyde Esplin pitching and Shaun Dalley hitting a double with the bases loaded. Later that week Lunt Motor overpowered over-powered the strong Antones team for a 13 to 9 win. One of the more exciting games of the season was between Cedar Builders and Lunt Motor. Cedar Builders was fighting to maintain a 1-0 1-0 lead when Chris Weaver hit a home run with one man on to bring the score to 3-0. Lunt Motor came back to score but later Kim Weaver hit a grand slam to bring the Cedar Builders to 9 points. Lunt Motor rallied and brought their score to 7 1 before Timmy Bonzo made a game saving catch in deep center field to give the CB's their 9-7 victory. Winning pitchers were Chris Weaver and Kyle Hinton. MacDonalds overcame the tough Police Department team 12 to 8 and Lockhart squeaked by Gary's Texaco 13-12. Bradshaw finished off the week with an 8 to 7 win over Western Auto. Winning pitchers were David Bradshaw and Bret May.
