Show Race horse owners plan benefit meet for injured member The race horse owners of the area are making preparations prepara-tions to hold a benefit race meet this Saturday, with the proceeds of the event to go to Dean Branham, who was injured in-jured while working his race horses at the Parowan track Sunday afternoon. According to Sam Pritchard, who Is assisting in preparations prepara-tions for the meet, all owners own-ers of race horses have or are being contacted and asked to bring their horses to Parowan and participate in the Saturday Satur-day racing card. Pritchard states that plans now are to have an entry meeting at the county courthouse court-house here tonight, Thursday, at 9. Horsemen are being asked ask-ed to run for no purses, with all proceeds of the meet going to Branham, Also racing fans of the entire area are urged to attend to help in this wor-I wor-I thy cause. Branham, Veyo horse owner and trainer, suffered serious injuries Sunday when his horse ran into the rail at the Parowan track where he is , training his animals. He was rushed to the Dixie Memorial Hospital in St. George where his injuries will keep him for several weeks. |
