Show Seven Iron County men ordered to report for induction in May, June; 1 6 for exams Two Iron County men were ordered to report for induction into military service in May under Selective Service call, and five more men have received re-ceived orders to report for induction in-duction on June 18. Eight men received orders in May to report re-port for pre-induction physical examinations in May, and another an-other eight men have been ordered or-dered to report on June 23 for physical examinations. The two men ordered to report re-port for induction in May were Lyle Dwight Stones of Para-gonah Para-gonah and Joseph K. Sand-berg, Sand-berg, Cedar City resident now residing in California. The five men who will re- port for induction on June 18 are DeVon Porter, Cedar City, who has volunteered for in-1 duetion, and Leland E. Adams and Larry Overson, also of Cedar City; Curtis Walker, Parowan and Stephen Harker, i Beryl. The eight men ordered to report for physical examinations examina-tions in May were Michael J. Stapley of Summit; Paul R. Gardner, Ray F. Lunt, Juan M. Lopez, Melvin C, Whitehead, James G. Sorenson, all of Ce- j dar City; John W. Guffey, Par-1 owan, and George W. Williamson, William-son, Paragonah. The June call for men to report re-port for physical examinations included four regular registrants, regis-trants, together with four students. stu-dents. New regulations call for students to be forwarded for examination and also that all returned missionaries be forwarded for-warded for examinations upon their return home, Under this regulation five men have been ordered to report who have re-eently re-eently returner! from missions and who are also students. Although Al-though tho students and missionaries mis-sionaries are being sent in for examinations, it does not change their school or other ! deferrment status, and their Induction calls will come In keeping with regulations that have been in effect since the new Selective Service law was adopted in July, 1967. The missionary-student group who will report on June 23 include Gaylord Robb, Paragonah, Par-agonah, John Bonzo, James Baird, Ted Wilcken and Robert Ro-bert Potter, Cedar City. The other four to report at that time will be Gary Orton and -irle Jones, Parowan, and Paul Buhanan and Roger Esplin, Cedar City. |
