Show MIA committee sets I up dance plans I for summer program i Plans have been made by the MIA Dance Committee to provide a dance each week during the summer barring any major conflicts, it was an- nounced by a spokesman for the committee. Dances will be held each Saturday with the exception of June 21 and 28. A special dance will be held in place of these two dances on Tuesday, June 24, the committee spokesman spokes-man said. Arrangements have been made to obtain the well known dance band from Ogden, Og-den, Johnny and the Blue Beats, for this special dance. The popular local dance band, the Clique, has been engaged to play for dances at I least once a month, according I to the committee spokesman. Music for the balance of the dances will be furnished by Radio Station KSUB and the dances will be broadcast live from the South Elementary School Patio each Saturday night beginning at 9 p.m. Tho committee spokesman said that attendance at the dances has increased substantially substan-tially since KSUB began its broadcast policy. The radio station furnishes records, equipment, and personnel to conduct the dances at minimal mini-mal cost to the program. The summer dance location at the South Elementary School is made available by the Iron County School District Dis-trict and has proved to be a popular arrangement with dance participants. Dances are open to everyone of Mia Maid or Explorer age and older. Non-members of the LDS Church of corresponding ages are ivited and encouraged encour-aged to attend. LDS dress standards are observed. Charge for the dances is 50 cents for special band dances and 40 cents for record dances. |
